Over a Century of Scouting in Arundel
The story of 1st Arundel Scout Group began over 100 years ago, making us one of the oldest Scout Groups in Sussex and one of the earliest groups established after Lord Baden-Powell founded the Scout Movement in 1907.
Since those early days, generations of young people have passed through our doors. Thousands of local children have enjoyed camps, hikes, games, community projects and adventures that have helped shape their confidence, friendships and future.
While Scouting has changed over the decades, our purpose has remained the same: to prepare young people with skills for life through adventure, teamwork and fun.

Our Group has seen changing uniforms, new badges, modern equipment and evolving programmes, but the spirit of Scouting has never changed. Every generation has added its own chapter to our story, with dedicated volunteers giving their time to create opportunities for young people in Arundel.
Today, 1st Arundel Scout Group continues to build on this remarkable legacy. We are proud of where we’ve come from, but even more excited about where we’re going. By embracing new ideas, welcoming families from all backgrounds and providing exciting opportunities for today’s young people, we’re ensuring our story continues for generations to come.
